WHERE DO YOU DRAW INSPIRATION FROM WHEN PICKING AN OUTFIT?
LITERALLY EVERYWHERE? Sometimes an old French movie from the 60s will send me on a wild goose chase for the perfect shade of yellow in a cashmere sweater and a string of pearls. Sometimes I'll start with one of my mom's hand-me-down accessories and try to emulate her style and sometimes I just throw an outfit together and it doesn't quite work but that's when I learn the most and try again until it feels just right.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT WORKING AT SERAFINA?
I love the women I work with. We laugh a lot, share stories, and recipes... we talk about food and health a lot. We have a very nice flow in everything we do. I also love talking to the customers and being given a problem to solve; what top to wear with which bottom and then the shoes... I absolutely love styling a willing customer.
WHO ARE YOUR STYLE ICONS?
My mom, my grandmother, Leandra Cohen, and Dr. Colleen Darnell aka @Vintage_Egyptologist. She is so glamorous and her Instagram is just beautiful featuring her wearing impeccable dresses, mostly from the 20s, in beautiful settings all over the world. Also, all the women I work with inspire me every day. Each of them are stylish in their own unique way.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE BRAND WE CARRY?
I have too many to mention but my newest favorite is Maria Cher. She's from Buenos Aires and I love her fabrics, her prints, and the simplicity of her designs. I bought a skirt because of the batik print which reminds me of Indonesian resist techniques.
